Oil Change 🛢️💦

Why ?

In Vietnam, the recommendation for very frequent oil changes (around every 600km) comes from practical reasons rather than strict technical necessity.

First, high-quality fully synthetic oils are not widely available accross the country. Most garages provide inexpensive mineral oil, which degrades much faster and therefore requires more frequent replacement.

Second, in Vietnam, motorbikes operate in extreme demanding conditions: heat, traffic, dust, and frequent short trips that all put extra stress on the engine oil. Also because of the high usage of the bikes by riders who are not familiar with the machines, some may have oil leaks or engines that burn too much oil along the way. By recommending oil changes every 600 km, we ensure that the bike is regularly topped up until it finishes its trip and comes back to us for full mechanic check.

If longer service intervals were followed (e.g. 3,000–5,000 km), these underlying issues could cause the engine to lose too much oil before the next check, potentially leading to serious damages and costs.

Where ?

You can get an oil change anywhere in Vietnam. Even in rural areas, you’ll easily find small local garages that can do it.

!! The price of oil change should cost no more than 5$ !!
